Greetings,
Took the last week of term break to do some cell by cell visits at Stateville's NRC (aka Illinois Department of Corrections Northern Receiving and Classification Center). It's been quite awhile since I've done cell by cell so I wasn't surprise to feel the urge to schedule a reoccurring visit to NRC into the stewarding of SOCPM. Will be praying and covet your prayers for the same.
Just about set for 1st term 2018! Expecting the arrival of 130 books early in the week, for three Malachi Dad classes!
Dixon's Chaplain has provided the name of 83 students who requested enrollment in the two Dixon classes, several first time students, Stephen a returning will be attending his 21st class!
No confirmation from Sheridan's chaplain but expecting possibly as many as 152 enrollments.
In all likelihood the enrollment numbers will drop with the 'no shows' and drops in the first couple of weeks but nonetheless for me it is a bit overwhelming. Quite certain I've never had this many students enrolled in one term before. Many of the students will look to me not just as a teacher but as pastor, reminding me though I enjoy prison ministry it is not about my enjoyment but servant-hood to God and glorifying Him and Him alone.
All said, pray for a fruitful term; salvation for unsaved and sanctification for those in Christ.
