STUDENT PRAYER REQUESTS Janauary 21, 2017

Greetings,

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.

It was a blessing and a great joy to be in prison once again. After having missed two weeks because of my wife Michelle's stroke, who is recovering quite well, a prayer of praise, I returned to Dixon and Sheridan this Wednesday and Friday respectively.

A few of the men in Dixon knew and shared how they were praying, but it was truly humbling when a good number of the men in Sheridan did know, and their first words were asking about Michelle and how they have been praying for her.

Makes me think of a Chaplain who told me sharing personal matters is not a good thing, I may believe that they care, but they don't. I beg to differ. If I don't share my trials and my need for prayer doesn't that come off as unreal, do as I say and you can have a life like mine, no trials just happiness.

One of the most affirming comments I hear is 'Your real, your sharing of your trials and you're trusting in God gives me hope.' Many in the world think 'all inmates' are about self. Some are, but when we are real most will see self in us, when they see us; hopefully they see Christ.

To Him be the glory

Paul - Please pray for my family and me. I have court 2/16/17. It has been long and very hard fro all of us. I'm hoping for a blessing that my Judge and court will grant me my good-time contracts back. I've been locked up for two years, and if my judge grants my motion, I will go home as soon as August of this year, instead of February 2018. My little granddaughter misses me the most. Put All my family misses me and I wish and pray to be back with them, never to go back to jail but live with Christ and do His will. Amen.

Derrick - Please pray for my kids, Derrick Jr., Dontell, Da'Jané, De'Kari, Brayden and please pray for my wife Erin that God will keep our family together.

Toby - A prayer praise! Luis a fellow inmate, who admittedly didn't know Christ personally. But, after talking with Luis and sharing with him Christ is, why he came, why He died and that He rose from the dead, Luis committed himself to Christ and trusting Him as Lord and Savior. Please pray that he will grow in Christ, that God would help me to disciple him and that he will commit to attending church and the discipleship class.
